Bio:
Pete grew up listening to the sounds of artists like The Beatles all the way to Czech folk music. By default most of it came from his parents. As Early as 7, Pete was making mixed tapes using his parents mono Radio Shack voice tape recorder placed in front of a speaker recording music from local channels playing the latest 80's to old vinyl from The Eagles to ABBA. His musical taste only grew from there. His first tape (1986) was Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill and his first CD (1988) was Erasure - The Innocents both new releases at the time. The 80's were a big influence growing up eventually showing him the road to house music through artists like 808 state and Orbital. Classically trained to play the clarinet and then branching off to play saxophone for a jazz band his understanding of music structure and various genres give him a appreciation for a very eclectic range. Needless to say, as music became broader and more difficult to categorize so did Pete's taste for music. Playing numerous clubs and underground events in Seattle he later moved to the San Francisco to start a series of Parties called Coloür teaming up with local house crew DHP (Deep House Project) and Reversible DJs. |
